Imagine a scenario where someone brings his small USB flash drive and plug it into your computer. What would happen? How easy would it be for that person to copy or steal your important files and at worst how easy would it be for him to infect your computer with a Trojan or with some malicious codes? A small sized 2 GB USB flash drive or a memory stick can save almost entire company's essential data because of their huge storage capacity.

You can see in your mind's eye that in the span of few seconds, you can lose all those files which you need to run your business or can even lose your customers as well. On a second thought, if the snooper also uploads a virus or a Trojan to your computer which can infect all your important files and as a result of this you will not be able to use your own files.

Removable storage devices especially USB flash drives no doubt are very useful in transferring data from one place to another, but they also pose great security risks of data leak, data loss as well as viruses and Trojans. Let me put it in simple words, if you have saved certain important files and folders in your USB device, and it gets lost you will lose all your important data.

Alternatively anyone can use his own USB device to steal or copy your private files from your computer or laptop; this is the attempt of data leak. At the same time, he can also upload a malicious agent to your computer which is surely a risk of getting your computer files affected with viruses, and can destroy or corrupt your files, folders and programs. To prevent such incidences to occur, one must block unauthorized USB devices from accessing his computer illegitimately.

The best approach would be to set access levels and allow your own USB devices to access your files and folders that you have on your computer or laptop while blocking all other storage devices and USB flash devices which do not belong to you. USB Block is a Data Leak Prevention software that allows you to decide what type of devices can access your computer. It allows you to use your own removable devices including USB flash drives, CDs, DVDs, floppy discs and many others while block all other devices and USB devices which do not belong to you from accessing your files and folders. It is a special type of privilege based security software particularly designed to combat with data leak threats.

USB Block works by blocking all types of unauthorized devices which do not belong to you; for example, USB drives, CDs, DVDs and memory sticks so that no one can steal your data by plugging in such devices neither can he upload any malware or malicious code to your computer.

USB Block helps you to protect your data from getting leaked and misused by blocking unauthorized USB flash drives and other removable storage devices from accessing your data. It prompts for the password every time a USB flash drive or any other storage device is plugged into the computer where USB Block is installed. However, all those devices which you own or devices which you have added to your Authorize list will get full access to your computer as soon as they plug in.
