AES Encryption

Back to the age when computer were newly introduced, encryption was used to protect top secret files and confidential data. At that time, encryption was the most complicated and time-consuming process, but the encryption algorithms used today are more sophisticated and reliable than ever used before for example AES (Advanced Encryption Standard).

But the question arises what is AES encryption and why is it so reliable? In cryptography, AES or Advanced Encryption Standard is an encryption standard that is adopted by the U.S. Government and it consists of three chunks called Block Ciphers which are AES-128, AES-192 and AES-256.

All these three block ciphers are originally adopted from Rijndael Cipher which was developed by two Belgian cryptographers, Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen , and submitted by them to the AES selection process.

The AES ciphers have been explored comprehensively and are now used worldwide as standard encryption algorithm. In cryptography, AES is one of the most accepted encryption algorithm used in several encryption packages endorsed by National Security Agency (NSA) and is the first open cipher which is easy to approach publicly.

As far as implementation is concerned, there are various implementations of the Advanced Encryption Standard as it is free for any use public or private, commercial or non-commercial. Furthermore, it requires very limited memory and works fast equally for software and hardware both. This is the reason why it is being used on a large scale presently.

How to secure data with AES Encryption Software?

You can protect your data on your computer system by different ways either by using some tricks and techniques or by using a good file encryption software . People use different ways to protect their data but at the end of the day they still think that they need to have more security for their data.

Since the Information Technology has moved forward, also in the metaphorical sense, so now even a 13 years old boy can easily hack into your computer and play with your personal data. Therefore it is mandatory to restrict such types of intrusion and security threats.

Many people use data protecting software that can only lock their data from casual users, but here I would like to advice people that they should use a file and folder encryption software to protect their data from above mentioned threats as now security of your personal and confidential data is as important as security of your own life.

Folder Lock is an encryption software that uses 256-bit AES encryption and lets you lock and encrypt your files and folders, and with its portability feature you can protect your USB drive and other storage devices as well. For more information click here.

If they can hack into the Pentagon, can't they hack past this too? Thanks for the info.

Well, No one can break the protection of AES 256-bit protection without knowing the correct password.

a good reminder that we need to lock up our personal information on the computer and how easy it is for others to access it. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes Tim, it is very easy for anyone to access your personal information who has access to your computer, but you can very easily prevent this unauthorized access by using a good file encryption software as I recommend Folder Lock because it uses 256-bit AES encryption which is the most trusted encryption algorithm used in US military. Data protected with 256-bit AES encryption cannot be decrypted WITHOUT your correct password.
